After 9 years of marriage, we are finally finished being in school... sort of! Kenneth just defended his dissertation and in a few short months will officially receive his PhD in Accounting. So you can call him "Dr. Merkley" now, but he probably will tell you not to. Now we will continue to live near a University and he will continue to work at a University, but now he will be faculty instead of a student. Yeah! In March he accepted the offer of a Tenured Track Faculty position at Cornell University. We are sooooooo.... excited! We will be moving to NY early in June. Then we will be flying to Utah to see everyone. We feel so blessed to have gotten such a great job at such an amazing place and we are really excited to start this new chapter in our life.
These are some pictures we took at Graduation. Maddie was such a trooper through it all. We were lucky enough to have lots of visitors come stay with us for the special occasion. We had a lot of fun visiting with everyone and are excited to see many of you in the next few months as we are leaving our current home, moving to our new one, and visiting our past homes.

congrats, Kenneth! I bet you are both excited. That is such a huge accomplishment. I know it wasn't easy, but good job sticking with it for this whole decade!!
