Greenfield Village

Kenneth's parents came out to Michigan on Saturday morning and we used almost every minute they were here to show them the sights. On Saturday, we went to Greenfield Village, which is a historical village and reenactment of the early 1900s. It was created by Henry Ford and many historic structures were moved to the village from all over the world. Because it was Memorial Day Weekend, they were also doing a Civil War reenactment and they had many women dressed in the big dresses of the time period and soldiers with clothing and guns from the Civil War. It was very crowded and a ton was going on, so we didn't get to do nearly as much as we would have liked to. Some of my favorite things were the glass-blowing (where you could watch them working on a big glass bowl), the Model T cars (we got to ride in an original Model T car), and the Hat shop (Cheryl took cutest picture of Elizabeth in a beautiful purple hat). Joseph's favorites were of course the steam engine train and the carousel. Kenneth's favorite was enlisting in the army and getting a medical exam. Grandma and Grandpa's favorite thing was being with their grand kids. Grandma has a great camera and is a much better photographer than me, so these photos were all taken by her.
